U12 Boys - Devon Finalists
Posted by Kathy Morrison on 12 March 2018
For the first time, Isca entered two teams into the Devon finals. Both of Isca's A and B teams progressed through their 5 pool matches without either of them losing a single game or conceding a single goal!
That set up a quarter-final for the A team against East Devon which they won comfortably 4-0. The B team were drawn against Tiverton in their quarter-final, which they won 3-0.
In the semi-finals, the A team faced Plymouth Marjon A team - always a tricky game - but with the majority of the possession they saw the game out 2-0 and never looked like losing. The B team faced Dart in their semi-final and, despite putting a lot of pressure on Dart, the game finished 0-0. This meant the dreaded penalty shoot out, which Isca won on sudden death after the first round of penalties were all square!
This meant an all-Isca final! A difficult one to watch for the supporters, but it was a really high-quality final with both sides playing some excellent hockey. Isca A ran out deserved winners in the end 3-0. Unfortunately only one team from a club is allowed to qualify for the regional finals so Isca A will go forward alongside Plymouth Marjons A who finished 3rd after a penalty shoot out win against Dart.
