Under 18 EH Cup
Isca 3-1 Bath Buccaneers
Scorers: Becky Manton 2, Emma Manton.
As a new squad playing their first match together, the plan was to spend the opening part of the game settling into position. However, in the second minute, a pass from Millie Attwell in the midfield was picked up by Becky Manton on the edge of the circle and calmly slotted past the keeper. Bath Bucs responded with some good attacking play but solid defending and good clearances from Tabby Vause prevented them from getting on the scoresheet. On the break, Isca were threatening but missed some good chances to extend their lead and were unlucky not to score just before the half-time whistle.
The second half saw some great passages of play from both sides and Bath Bucs successfully converted a penalty corner in the 50th minute. Isca remained focused and played some fast flowing hockey, putting the opposition defence under pressure and were rewarded with a short corner, which, on the second time of asking, was converted by a drag flick from Emma Manton, and a minute later Becky Manton picked up a rebound securing her second goal of the game. The last 10 minutes saw no let up in pace from either side and the final 3-1 score was a positive start for the squad in U18 EH Cup.
