Isca 2s travelled away to Plymouth Marjons for their 3rd game of season. The game started at a high pace with both teams having their chances. It was clear that this game was going to be end to end. 10 minutes into the game Isca started to dominate by working the ball round the back to tire out Marjon’s attackers. Marjons were able to counter some chances and continue to put pressure in Isca’s defending D. The first goal came from a Plymouth short corner which they were able to convert during the second phase. Isca were determined to get a goal back and were able to win some short corners, however none were converted. Marjon’s took an early outlet and sent the ball to their high forward, who was able to beat the last man and create a 2 on 1, which they scored. Isca fell on the back foot and were caught sleeping when Marjon scored another with 5 minutes left of the first half to make it 3-0. The second half was a closer contest within the middle of the pitch and lots of turnovers were created by Isca. Unfortunately the umpires were failing to give the calls Isca’s way, but Isca continued to put in a team effort and create some very close chances. Isca kept putting on the pressure but could not find the back of the net, the final phase play was very scrappy with questionable calls given against us. The second half ended 0-0, with the final score 3-0 to Marjon.
