About Us
| About Us | ||
| Isca Hockey Club, on which the current club is based, was founded in 1913 and has grown into the largest club in the west. The club caters for all ages, genders and abilities with 6 men’s and 4 ladies league teams as well as vintage, veterans and juniors teams of all ages. The Men’s and Ladies 1stXIs are both in West Premier Division 1. The club also enters the England Hockey and Devon Cup competitions, which involves most teams. Isca’s Vintage and Veteran teams have been National Champions a number of times over recent years. Isca seeks to encourage a blend of competitive achievement on the pitch with a strong, family orientated social side off it. The encouragement of Junior hockey is a key focus and the section now boasts over 200 boys and girls. The success of the section is borne out by the number of young players going on to achieve representative honours at county, regional and national levels. All matches and most training takes place at Exeter University, where we have use of excellent facilities, including the water and sand-based pitches. We have an outstanding team of well-qualified and enthusiastic coaches and there is weekly training for all teams on the water-based pitch. In the summer, we run mixed and ladies teams to help stay in touch with friends throughout the year. |
